Additional cost: Express boat ticket Tromsø/Finnsnes and Hurtigruten ticket Finnsnes/ Tromsø (approx. NOK 600 round trip) This tickets are not included in the expediton.
 
Activities and adventures

We will pick you up at the express boat terminal in Finnsnes and provide a transfer to the most spectacular part of Senja. Our main base during the expedition is Posthuset Expedition Lodge, which is situated on the waterfront at Skaland. The meals are based on local traditions and local ingredients, including fish caught in the sea off the coast of Senja. Exciting activities: fjord expedition in the Bergsfjord, birding and seal safaris and guided hike in the beautiful national park in Senja. The expedition program is based on the weather forecast and will vary from month to month. 

There is an abundant birdlife in Senja, and we will take you to the best spots for birding and photography. July and August is high summer in the Arctic and the golden rays of the Midnight Sun provide bright nights in Senja. We arrange exiting activities such as a guided hike in the national park in Senja. 

We arrive at Posthuset Expedition Lodge (60 km from Finnsnes). We start with a warm lunch and plan our adventure in Senja. After lunch we hike up the nearby mountain Husfjellet. This is not a particularly demanding summit hike and is suitable for most people. The hike to the top takes around 90 minutes and the view from the summit is perhaps the best on the entire island of Senja.  

After breakfast we set off for first stop at Sazza, nature center, before we set of to Ånderdalen National Park and go on a 3-4 hour hike is easy going terrain with beautiful nature. We make a bonfire and have a nice traditional lunch in the wilderness. We share the history of this park during the tour.

After breakfast, we set off by boat for a perfect view of the beautiful Bergsfjorden. We explore the fjord, and we share the history of Senja. We spot for sea birds, seals and white tailed eagles. We take a picnic meal and make an excursion to one of the fjord’s beautiful islands.  Dinner is served back at the lodge, and during this last evening, we set off to the most impressive part of the Scenic Route Senja.

We depart Posthuset after breakfast, at 10am and set of to Finnsnes.

Transfers from/to Finnsnes, accommodation, guide, activities/adventures including fjord cruise and all meals.

Practical information:
The summer in the north is bright and beautiful, but it can be cold and rough, yet fascinating. It is wise to bring windproof jacket, hat, gloves and warm shoes. A warm sweater and warm socks are also recommended. Remember that summers in the north can sometimes bring long warm periods. Check the weather forecast online at www.yr.no (place: Skaland Berg, Troms). This service is available in English.
Other important things to bring: binoculars, camera, small back pack (so your hands are free in the boat) and sunglasses.
